Cilantro for $2.98??!!

Yes, that's correct: at our local grocery store yesterday, I was horrified to find cilantro for $2.98. What happened to the "3 bunches for $.99" I was used to paying??! Most people wouldn't think paying almost three dollars for a bunch of a cilantro was a major deal, but for me who thinks that cilantro may just as well substitute for lettuce in a salad, this is serious. My grocery store calculations tell me that makes about $3 a week, multiplied by 52 weeks... and that I now need to create a household savings jar for my $156 a year cilantro budget! Whew - I was relieved to discover that the pricing on that cilantro was for the organic version. I guess I've decided that chemical-induced cilantro would be okay, and that'll run me about $.79 a bunch. Still a bit pricey at $41.08 a year if you ask me. Alas. I better get a second job.
It's getting colder here. I've just about exhausted my days in my stage one jacket, and will need to graduate to my stage two coat in just a matter of days. These sorts of upgrades aren't much fun, I'm afraid. I could see my breath outside earlier tonight (the REAL test that it's getting cold in these parts!) Bennamin doesn't seem to mind. I'm rather hoping that some of these colder days will help him to shiver off some of his flab he can't seem to shed. I suppose it would help if I walked him more than once a month. Poor guy. Funny thing is, you can see his ribs AND his fatlumps. Looks a little like a cloning gone awry, I think.

I was reading In Style magazine today and they had a huge section on coats. I skipped over the whole section and felt relieved that I didn't have to spend any money on coats! Ever! One advantage of living in Phoenix I suppose. :-)
