Batscapades, Volume II
The picture below features something that was once alive. Please select the response that best decribes the photo found below. This is a picture of:
A) An oozing, melty pile of black licorice
B) A frozen "Las Campanas" burrito with a bad case of freezer burn
C) A close-up of Michael Jackson's nose, magnified 300x
D) Jimmy Hoffa
E) None of the Above
If you chose "E" your lifetime supply of Twinkies will be arriving shortly! Yes, friends, what we have here is one dead bat. Not just any old bat, see, but the bat that I found Sunday morning WET AND ON MY CARPET AND PARTIALLY GNAWED. I'm not really too sure which one of my two monkeys found this thing, or where they found it. I'm hoping that one of them found it in the backyard, while it was minding its own business & trying to catch 40 batwinks in our pine tree. However, I am also wondering if this is the renegade bat that found its way into our basement earlier this winter. You may remember this post here which told a chilling tale of the rampant bat whose ploy to conquer my universe went somehow awry, perhaps after discovering I was armed and ready with two large bat-catching nets. Alas. It may also have been a "fresh" bat that snuck in through the chimney (which, to my chagrin, is currently capless.) Apparently Benny was going bonkers looking for something in the basement on Saturday night after I went to bed. Not terribly unusual... sometimes the Bennamin just gets a case of what I call "the night crazies" and tears around the house like a madman.

I wanted to call the Haz Mat team asap and have them take care of the carnage. Unfortunately, my call was re-rerouted to Haz Bat and I was told to suck it up and take care of it myself. I donned my disposable latex glove, grabbed a couple Viva paper towels, and went to work to clean up this hazardous waste. Thankfully, Mr. Bat did not appear bloody and had only a small bald-ish spot on his underbelly. Whoopie! I can save myself a trip to the vet. The bat was safely disposed of, and the dogs appear to be fine.
So much for a nice quiet Sunday of coupon-clipping and coffee! I'm off to get some Lysol....
